😭 I've Been There

Bethany Michaela
I’ve been a photographer ever since I can remember. I was always the one documenting junior high school dances, school trips, friend hangs, and special family occasions. My love for photography continued to grow in high school, where I was a new magazine photographer for one of the best high school publications in the state, and my junior year I became the photo editor.
Once I became a photo editor I quickly learned that file organization and systems were crucial for publishing a story. My senior year of high school, I had the honor of being editor-in-chief, and one day, my Turquoise Macbook (remember when they came in colors?!) crashed.
I learned the hard way that I needed to have multiple backups in multiple locations. That night I had to redesign the whole magazine, reshoot photos, and hunt down writers for their original drafts. I vowed then to never make the same mistake again.
But of course, time goes by ,and new problems arise. I started my own photography business, shooting around 35 weddings and 25 portrait sessions a year. There were nights were I spent hours looking for photos, waiting for cloud backups to sync, and searching through countless hard drives to find what I needed.
Have you ever hated a part of your job so much you’ve almost wanted to quit? That’s where I was at. I wanted to take a sledgehammer to my hard drives like they do to the printer in Office Space.
I was tired of dreading opening my computer and not knowing what I’ll find.
I’ve been a photographer and business owner for 12 years and I have over 14 Terabytes (TB) of images to backup and organize… so you could say I’m a pro.
I want to save you the tears, headaches, and stress of losing images you love.
I read countless blog posts explaining how I could create smart previews, alter metadata, and organize with ease but most of them just had snapshots of a system or they just had a list of best practices or tips. I needed a step-by-step process to hang in my office. I didn’t need tips or tricks, I needed a total transformation re-do.
Our Lightroom and Photo Organization Course offers customized workflows tailored to your specific needs and preferences, secure and scalable cloud-based storage solutions, and ongoing support to ensure your image library remains organized and accessible over time. With our easy-to-follow step-by-step checklist, you can create a flawless client experience, raise your prices, and feel good about it.
Whether you're just starting out or a seasoned pro, our course is designed to help you streamline your workflow and simplify your life. No more late nights bawling your eyes out because your hard drive crashed and you don't know if you have it backed up, or a memory card corrupted. You'll wake up every morning knowing where everything is on your computer.
It's time to give your hard drives and Lightroom catalog the transformation it deserves.

Bethany's course is an answered prayer for photographers who are focused on clients and need a better back-end to make sure their business is running efficiently. This course addresses all of the things photographers need and utilizes every day, but likely not to maximum benefit. I LOVED when she shared her own galleries and approaches to capturing certain shots. I also loved when she shared certain actions to take with clients before a session to ensure their future satisfaction. SOOOOO helpful. As an added bonus, Bethany is extremely generous with her time and talents if you have a question or challenge or to share a helpful approach to capturing storytelling imagery and ensuring a client's happiness. 10/10 recommend!

I highly recommend Bethany's Better Backups & Organization for Lightroom Course. From computer and Lightroom catalog clean up, backing up your work, to pre-and post photo session workflows, and ways to speed up your editing strategy --it's chock full of practical tips and tricks to help you run a much more efficient photography business. I have already starting implementing what I learned, and I'm glad I have more time to focus on what I love to do most -- shoot! I was surprised how this course made organization and backing up your work seem a lot less overwhelming.

I just started my photography business, and this course was just what I needed! I now have the information I need to set up systems that work for me and my clients from the beginning. It was a no-brainer when I saw Bethany's course offering- worth every penny! It was fantastic!! She has so much knowledge from her years of experience as a photographer and teaches in such a relatable and accessible way. I often dread the tech and organization side of the business and this course is helping me gain so much confidence! It is full of so much valuable information that I know I will continue to refer back to again and again.

The Backup Course helped me confirm my backup system and workflow. Bethany also gave great tips on how to use Lightroom, and best practices for storing your lightroom catalogs. I had always been someone who eventually had to delete folders and used 1 catalog, moving to a catalog system for each gallery has really helped my workflow and system.

Modules
Our course offers 5 modules of self-paced video training, bonus material, and downloadable transcripts for every lesson.
You'll get access to a customizable workflow checklist and a list of tools of the trade (need to have and want to have). Plus, we offer a risk reversal with our 100% money-back 30-day guarantee.
It's time to uplevel your business and stop missing deadlines because you're disorganized. Trying to recover lost photos ranges from $800-$10,000 and that doesn’t necessarily mean that you will get back your images. No backup system is 100% perfect, and there are countless ways to run your business. I am sharing what has worked for me in the 12 years I’ve been a professional photographer, and throughout this course I’ll also share other ways that people in the industry do things differently and why so that you have options and can consider how you would like to organize your LR and photo backup systems.
Please note: This course isn't for non-professional photographers or those who only use their phone as a camera. But if you're a photographer who shoots thousands of RAW images every week or someone who is just starting out that wants to create systems for success in the future, then this is for you!

Faqs
I've taken Lightroom courses before, how is this different?
Most Lightroom courses focus on editing photos but don't do a great job of explaining the concepts and workflow behind Lightroom catalogs. I've done all the wrong things so that I can teach you the right things. I won't just give you one way to do things, I'll give you multiple roads and you can choose the path that's best for you. Systems change as we grow but it's important to establish best practices in the place where you are now. You won't learn all the features of Lightroom, but you'll learn everything you need to organize photos using open standards and industry best practices.
My clients don't use Lightroom, will this course still be useful to me?
Absolutely! Everything in this course is based on open standards and industry best practices, so all the work you do for your clients (creating a core file structure, assigning industry-standard metadata, renaming files, etc.) is accessible even if they don't use Lightroom.
What's the cost of the software used in this course?
Adobe Lightroom Classic is the core of the course and is available for only $10/month which also includes the latest version of Adobe Photoshop. There are a few other tools I recommend but most of them are free!
Pricing details
$147 in full or 4 monthly payments of $57
Risk Reversal (a satisfaction guarantee)
100% money back 30-day guarantee, but you have to let me know what didn’t work.
P.s. I know organization isn’t fun for everyone, but that feeling you get when you can easily find all your files and your legacy and your client’s legacy is safe is priceless!
Do I need Lightroom to benefit from this course?
Yes. It's $10/month to subscribe to the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan which includes the latest version of Adobe Lightroom Classic and Adobe Photoshop.
What's the difference between Lightroom Classic and Lightroom?
Lightroom Classic is what we will be focusing on for this course. A course on Lightroom for mobile is in the works so keep an eye out!
