This beautiful wedding at Boscobel House & Gardens in Garrison New York included all the unique traditional undertones you could dream of when planning a wedding. Alex got ready at The Pig Hill Inn, and Megumi got ready at Boscobel House & Gardens.
The bride, both Japanese and Irish, and Megumi Haggerty wanted to include many Japanese touches in the wedding. The groom, Alexander King, having worked in Japan previously and being fond of both the culture and country, had taken up the art of origami before their relationship. They both incorporated traditional touches to the reception – from the handmade origami cranes, Alexander made to the ceramic crane cake toppers.
The origami flowers Alexander had created on the wedding favors, and the favors themselves are small cherry blossom bowls & plates. They used cherry blossoms on both the invitations and programs, which is a sign of how beautiful life is and how short. The couple wanted to embrace this special day fully, knowing it was a beautiful moment in time. They chose a more intimate setting with about 50 guests and it was perfect for them.
Congratulations, you two!
