Intimate Dallas Arboretum Wedding

Madeline and Zack’s Intimate Brunch Wedding

Madeline and Zack’s brunch wedding at The Dallas Arboretum started at the Alex Camp House, which was conveniently located right next to their ceremony spot—the Secret Garden. Utilizing this gorgeous house was perfect for the couple since they had separate places to get ready while still being so close to the ceremony site.

The Best Dallas Wedding Venue for Beautiful Photos

Before the guests arrived, we headed to the Lay Family Garden for Madeline and Zack’s first look. I love it when my couples choose to do a first look; not only does this allow them to have an intimate moment before the ceremony, but it also allows us to get some couple portraits so the couple can spend the rest of the day enjoying their wedding guests. This moment was so sweet; as we finished the first look, the string trio they had hired to play during their ceremony started playing Zack’s music selection—a song from The Lion King.

The fact that they had little details, such as a specific song selection they wanted to play during their ceremony, made this intimate wedding so personal for Madeline and Zack. To be able to capture couple portraits at The Dallas Arboretum is a wedding photographer’s dream! Every corner of the garden offers a stunning backdrop, so no matter where you take your pictures, it will always look beautiful in the background.

The Secret Garden Wedding

After we got couple portraits taken care of, they were tucked away while their guests were all seated for their ceremony. The Secret Garden space was perfect for their Saturday morning wedding since it was out of the way of the public since the Arboretum was open to the public. This allowed Madeline to have a short walk from the Camp House to the ceremony site, where she walked down the aisle to a Taylor Swift song. We took family portraits following the ceremony with White Rock Lake in the background.

Wedding Reception at Sixty Vines in Uptown, Dallas

The wedding guests then went to Sixty Vines in Uptown for the reception. This venue is a favorite of mine, especially for intimate gatherings. Its private greenhouse space allows you to have a personal celebration. It makes for the best pictures with all the natural light that shines through. We walked into the space, and I was so excited to see the reception tables full of colorful floral arrangements and the three-tiered cake decorated with flowers that matched the table arrangements. I could not stop taking pictures of the flowers and the cake! I am a sucker for a colorful flower arrangement!

Since the ceremony was in the morning, the brunch-themed reception at Sixty Vines was the perfect laid-back option for the guests. The shared appetizers and private bar in the greenhouse let the guests indulge in one of the best brunch spots in Dallas. Not only did all the food and drinks look fantastic, but the guests could not stop complimenting how everything tasted! If you plan on having a restaurant wedding reception, make sure you do a tasting before the wedding day since it will be the big conversation piece.
