Planning to propose in Dallas? The right location can play a big part in asking this important question! From stunning gardens to romantic skyline views, Dallas offers countless beautiful spots that make the perfect backdrop for your proposal.
Whether you want a quiet, intimate moment or a grand gesture with city skylines behind you, this guide covers the best places to propose in Dallas.

Our Favorite Places to Propose in Dallas

Klyde Warren Park
The bridge over Woodall Rodgers gives you unobstructed views of the Dallas skyline. Time your sunset proposal, and you’ll have golden hour light with the city behind you. The park’s central location means you can celebrate immediately after with dinner at one of the nearby restaurants.

Texas Discovery Gardens
Tucked inside Fair Park, these gardens offer year-round beauty with less foot traffic than other popular spots. The butterfly house creates a magical, intimate atmosphere. The conservatory and various garden rooms give you options for different looks and levels of privacy. Quick note: If you’re looking to have your proposal photographed (which, of course, I highly recommend!), the Texas Discovery Gardens has a $150 fee during their hours of operation or a $500 fee for after-hours sessions from 5-7 pm.

White Rock Lake
If you’re looking for an intimate, natural setting away from the city, White Rock Lake is a great option. The walking trails offer multiple locations where you can find a quiet spot for just you and your partner. Some of my favorite places are the docks with the sailboats in the background. The combination of the lake with the city skyline in the background makes White Rock Lake one of the prettiest places in Dallas for a proposal.

Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden
The Arboretum is stunning any time of year, but spring flowers and fall colors make it especially gorgeous. With 66 acres of gardens, you’ll find some of the best places to propose in Dallas. The views over White Rock Lake from the gardens add an extra layer of beauty. Keep in mind this is a popular location, so arrive early if you want more privacy.

Reunion Tower GeoDeck
Nothing says Dallas quite like Reunion Tower. The 360-degree panoramic views from 470 feet up make for a dramatic proposal setting. The GeoDeck is especially magical at night when the city lights create a glittering backdrop. You can arrange for champagne service to celebrate the moment.

Virgin Hotels Rooftop
The rooftop at Virgin Hotels offers some of my favorite views of the downtown skyline. The Pool Club creates a more intimate setting than some of the larger observation decks around Dallas. It’s the perfect location in the Dallas Design District, where you can make a whole weekend out of it, from the proposal to dinner. Then, a staycation at the Virgin Hotel Dallas is the ideal spot!

Crescent Hotel
The Crescent combines old-world elegance with stunning views. The hotel’s architecture alone provides beautiful backdrops for proposal photos. This location works well if you’re planning a weekend getaway in Uptown around the proposal. You’ll find some of Dallas’s favorite restaurants for celebrations around The Crescent!

Dallas Museum of Art
The DMA’s architecture creates dramatic spaces both inside and outside the museum. The sculpture garden offers outdoor options, while the interior galleries are a great option if you’re looking to avoid the Texas heat. If your partner loves art, this location adds personal meaning to the proposal.

Nasher Sculpture Center
The Nasher’s outdoor sculpture garden seamlessly combines art, architecture, and nature in one stunning location. The modern sculptures create some unique backdrops for your proposal photos. The garden, while public, feels intimate at the same time. Weekday mornings tend to be quieter if you want fewer people around.

AT&T Performing Arts Center
The Winspear Opera House and surrounding areas offer multiple spots that would be an excellent backdrop for a proposal. This is the perfect excuse to have your partner dressed up for the proposal! Propose outside and then have tickets to a performance afterward to continue the celebration.
Planning Your Own Dallas Proposal
You’ve found the perfect spot. You’ve planned every detail. Now make sure you have photos that do this moment justice. Your proposal deserves more than a photo taken with an iPhone from a friend hiding behind a tree. When you work with a photographer who knows these locations, you get images that showcase both the moment and the setting. Someone who understands how light works at White Rock Lake during sunset. Who knows the best angles at Reunion Tower? Who can capture the gardens at the Arboretum in a way that feels fresh, not like every other proposal photo taken there?
