According to traditional Jewish custom, the couple stood beneath the chuppah, an ornate canopy symbolizing their marriage. During the ceremony, Tonni broke a glass, a reminder of the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. After signing the ketubah, or Jewish marriage contract, the couple recited the Seven Blessings. As they circled each other seven times, they declared their commitment to one another in front of family and friends. To conclude the ceremony, the couple was presented with a piece of challah, the traditional braided bread of the Sabbath, for them to share with their guests. It was a stunning outdoor New York wedding that celebrated the joys of marriage and Judaism.
The Reception
Their New York wedding reception at The Garrison was a magical night full of dancing, laughter, and lots of love. Guests were welcomed into the grand ballroom, where elegant gold chairs were arranged around all of the round tables, set the scene for a fun-filled night. The lights were dimmed, and the air filled with the sound of upbeat music. A live band played a selection of popular songs as guests hit the dance floor and celebrated the newlyweds.
