Caroline and Tim’s beautiful wedding took place at the intimate Perkins Chapel on the SMU campus, followed by a colorful Dallas hotel wedding reception at the JW Marriott in the Dallas Arts District.
Intimate Perkins Chapel Wedding Ceremony
We started the wedding day at Perkins Chapel, an intimate —perfect for bridal portraits before the ceremony begins. One of my favorite features of this chapel was the spiral staircase leading down to the getting-ready area. It was too good not to get the wedding details shots, from the dress to the shoes. The lighting in this stairwell was perfect!
Dallas Hotel Wedding Venue JW Marriott
After the intimate ceremony, the guests went to the JW Marriott for the reception. The JW Marriott was the perfect location for their Dallas hotel wedding. Not only was it close to the ceremony venue, but it had plenty of space to host all of their guests! The cocktail hour was set up right outside the ballroom, offering a seamless transition into the wedding reception. Deena and her team from Refined Events did an incredible job bringing Caroline’s vision to life. The decor was stunning, with colorful floral arrangements by Catherine Huynh Design that had a vibrant, tropical feel. The flower arrangements were accented by vintage candle holders and pastel candle tapers, creating a whimsical and fun atmosphere.
The guests cheered as Caroline and Tim made their grand entrance into the ballroom and stepped onto the dance floor for their first dance. Their planned surprise for the first dance was a showstopper. Midway through the dance, Tim spun Caroline around and then flipped her in the air. It was such a fun moment that set the tone for the rest of the night on the dance floor.
After their first dance, it was then time for their sit-down dinner. The dinner, catered by the JW Marriott, was absolutely delicious—one of the best meals I’ve had at a wedding! The speeches after the meal were full of sweet memories and funny stories that had everyone laughing and tearing up. It had me questioning what Tim’s brother does for a living because if it’s not public speaking in some form, it should be!
Dance Floor Fun for C + T Dallas Hotel Wedding
As the night went on, the dance floor was always full. Caroline, Tim, and their guests danced and sang till the very end. At one point, glow sticks and leis were brought out to turn the party up. All the guests loved it especially Tim’s brother who suddenly had his tie on his head. Next thing you know he’s being lifted up in the middle of the dance floor! Truly a site to see during a wedding reception!
This wedding was not just fun; it was intentional and guest-centered, with every detail thoughtfully planned to ensure everyone had a fantastic time. Documenting Caroline and Tim’s wedding was so special for me. From the stunning settings of Perkins Chapel and the JW Marriott to the colorful reception, it was a photographer’s dream to capture!
