This couple wanted to take engagement photos in their favorite neighborhood in Brooklyn, DUMBO. Whenever I schedule a DUMBO session, I recommend to the couple that we meet on the Brooklyn Bridge as the sun rises. For two reasons, one, the light is divine, and two, there aren’t any tourists, so the only people around are commuters. You’re able to get epic shots on the bridge without having to ask people to move or Photoshop them out of the image.
After we perused Brooklyn Bridge, we got some coffee at Bluestone Lane. I always recommend this coffee shop as a place to make a pit stop to grab some coffee and change into another outfit because of its huge windows, great coffee, and pink flaming wallpaper.
After we were caffeinated, we ventured into Brooklyn Bridge Park and captured those quintessential NYC shots that are a must for engagement photography. I also love stopping by St. Ann’s Warehouse and getting a photo with the red brick windows. It’s also the perfect background for headshots near the end of the session!
