Working with amazing vendors is one of the things that makes our job so fun. With a spirit of inclusion and connection, we teamed up with Justine, of Together Events, and made magic happen.
The Location
A Brooklyn rooftop is our ideal ceremony location for small weddings. So we decided to set up a golden hour rooftop ceremony at my very own Brooklyn apartment, The Parkline! We had a photoshoot celebrating queer love and queer fashion, highlighting the talents of an incredible team of Brooklyn wedding vendors.
The Outfits
The suits were designed and made by Kirrin Finch and the dresses were designed and made by Rebecca Schoneveld Bridal! Kirrin Finch’s menswear-inspired clothing is the answer so many of our nonbinary friends have been looking for when it comes to suiting.
Event Style
Hand-lettered paper goods, signs, and mosaic tile place cards were all done by Penned by Alice. Her design and style add such elegance to every event she does.
The photoshoot, led by me, was followed by an industry celebration and opportunity for co-learning and networking amongst attendees.
Food and Drinks
Drinks were provided by Brooklyn-made Hella Cocktail Co. bitters, New York Distilling spirits. Purslane Catering spoiled us with a stunning spread of delicious food. Their pursuit of waste-free catering is inspiring and oh-so-needed in this wedding world.
Cookies for a Cause made delectable cookies for the event. I love how impactful this company is. They donate proceeds of every sale to nonprofit organizations changing the world.
It was truly an honor to celebrate and learn with all the wedding vendors who are committed to creating a more inclusive wedding industry. I celebrate the beauty of queer love as often as I can. I’m also thankful for publications like H&H Weddings that celebrate all bodies and all love.
