Najeeb and Verena got ready in a hotel in Financial District in downtown Manhattan. I love when couples get ready together. It’s so intimate and definitely sets the tone for the rest of the day. We ventured to the rooftop to grab a few photos before heading out to say I do.
They hopped in a cab and headed to the City Clerk’s Office to get married at City Hall. I was their witness and photographer. I’m always so honored when couples ask me to document the day and be a living witness to their love. It was the beginning of Summer and the weather.
A McSorley’s Reception
After they made it official we hopped over to the West Village and grabbed a pint at the oldest bar in Manhattan, McSorley’s Old Ale House. I recommended this place to them because it’s one of my favorite bars in the West Village. They only serve two kinds of beer, light, and dark. The place was completely empty because it had just opened and the McSorley’s bartender was so kind and let us grab photographs of Najeeb and Verena in the main space. Then we went to Washington Square Park and got some couples portraits in one of the most quintessential NYC locations.
