Like a lot of my clients, Claudia and Evan met for the first time by swiping right on their Bumble app.Their first date in the Lower East Side lasted over 7 hours. They have such an adventurous and loving relationship so it’s only fitting that they proposed to each other in October of 2018. They went back to the spot where they had our first date and then had a staycation at the Wythe Hotel. The next night they celebrated with all of our friends and family in Brooklyn.
Claudia and Evan booked Bethany Michaela Studio all the way in 2019 but due to Covid I wasn’t able to photograph their wedding reception until 2021. They were initially going to get married at Lyndhurt Mansion in Tarrytown NY, but had to completely start over once they decided to cancel their wedding to keep their friends and family safe.
They ended up eloping on their original date in the fall of 2020 and had a private ceremony on the rooftop of the Hoxton Hotel in Brooklyn. Now, looking back, they wouldn’t have had it any other way. It was such a difficult decision to cancel their wedding and start from scratch, but it has just made their Green Building Wedding reception so much sweeter.
The started the day getting ready in the room at the back of The Green Building and moved straight into family portraits. It was raining off and on that day so we got some portraits inside with flash and natural light and near the end we were able to go outside for the rest of the wedding portraits and couple portraits. The vines in the backyard of the Green Building are a perfect backdrop. Then we ventured to the Carroll Street Bridge to get that iconic Brooklyn photo.
They had Pig Beach, next door neighbors to The Green Building, cater their dinner. Then Claudia changed into a silk jumpsuit so they could dance the night away. They ended the night with ice cream from the Van Leeuwen Ice Cream Truck and their nephew was especially excited to pick his flavors.
It was a perfect evening and I’m so glad they finally got to celebrate with all their people in one place.
